Maple City Cagefighting 4

Saturday I went down to shoot Maple City Cagefighting's 4th event. Thomas Armstrong puts on a good show and the Chatham crowd is always rowdy and ready to watch some fights. 6 fights ended in the first round making for a don't blink kind of night. It's always really easy to shoot with that kind of action.

Their next event is February 25th, 2017, already booked off in my calendar.

Couples Fitness

I really enjoy photographing the genre of couples fitness. It is really fun to see the two people work together and encourage each other. Two fitness models really bring a different energy to the shoot.

Victory - Maple City Cagefighting - 29 Winners

On Saturday November 5th, I'll be shooting my fourth Maple City Cagefighting show out of Chatham, ON. Thomas Armstrong always puts on an entertaining card and this show should be a sell out as well. (Only a few tickets left) Once the fights start I'll be cage side ready to photograph the fights.

Soccer Shoot

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to shoot with a young soccer player who has made the Filipino U-16 National soccer team. She and her family were great to work with. We did a combination of action and posed shots for her media needs. I really enjoy working with athletes because of their natural posing ability and their attitude for getting the shot perfect.

We shot some of the images on white and some on black.

We got the safe posed pictures first and then pulled out the crash mat and got some action pictures. The reason I chose the strobe lights I did was the speed at which the flash. For the action images the flash duration was faster than 1/5000th of a second, freezing all of the motion. I used a small aperture to block out all of the light other than the strobes.

ACE Fights

I went down to MAFA in Mississauga yesterday to shoot promo pictures for ACE Fights. I shot ACE's first show back in March of 2015 and I'll be shooting their next show on Nov 11th at Nashville North.

It's always fun to hang out with a bunch of fighters getting ready for an event. I'm looking forward to the show.

A Few More Images from my Fitness Shoot with Eden

A few more images from my summer fitness shoot with Eden. These pictures were just delivered to her plaque mounted at 16x20. They look fantastic. I really encourage my clients to print their pictures. There's a real emotional impact seeing a large print. We shot the images at FlexPlex Canada. Gym Boss Feature

I was thinking a couple of months back that in the London area there are a lot of kick ass women who own gyms in the area. I came up with the idea of shooting a gym boss feature of women who run gyms. Athletes and Models Magazine loved the idea and gave me a feature to run with. There are a lot of other gyms I didn't get to this time and I think we'll try and make it a quarterly feature in the magazine.

DO Boxing Expo - Promotional Materials

Commercial Photography is always a good area to be involved with. In addition to the fitness and fight photography, I photograph a lot of catalogue and promotional images. Dameon Okposio is a good friend of mine and is putting on the 2017 Boxing Expo in May of next year. It's going to be a huge event, with a trade show, amateur boxing, a boxing combine and the Ontario Boxing Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Professional Wrestling Shoot

Last Sunday, I had a private commissioned shot for a client involving professional wrestler. Ashley Sixx from Superkick'd Wrestling. It was a lot of fun to choreograph fight moves to look good on camera. The client let me use one of the images from the shoot for my portfolio, which is always appreciated.

Beach Shoot with Randi

In August I had to opportunity to shoot some swimwear pictures with Randi Angilene in Port Stanley. We had a nice secluded beach a couple of assistants and very little sunlight left. We started out in pure sunlight, added reflectors and shortly after started adding flashes to brighten up the subject. It was a lot of fun as I rarely get to the beach to shoot. Randi was a great model and in perfect beach body shape.

Steven Wilcox defeats Jesus Singwancha for the WBA NABA Super Lightweight Title. Professional boxing returned to Hamilton, Ontario Saturday night. Three Lions Promotions gave us Hamilton Fights for the Cure a cancer fundraiser. Steeltown Boxing's Steve Wilcox captures the vacant title.

Behind the Scenes @ Three Lions Promotions

Saturday October 1st - Three Lions Promotions put on Hamilton Fights for the Cure a cancer fundraising event. The event was terrific, a packed house, great atmosphere and great fights. I was lucky enough to be invited to shoot behind the scenes pictures from the dressing rooms that night. Thanks to everyone for welcoming me in. It was nice seeing the guys from Steeltown Boxing - Steve Wilcox, Kevin Higson, Jessie Wilcox and Dylan Rushton.
