Fighter Pictures with Frank

Frank is a member at Warrior's Boxing and Fitness, where my studio is located and he wanted some simple fighter pictures for his social media. So I went out into the gym and we shot some of him working the heavy bag. Frank really hits the bag hard and there were a lot of frames of him bending the bag.

Sparring at Warriors' Boxing and Fitness

I went down to Warriors Boxing and Fitness this morning to shoot some sparring so I can get my timing back for next weekend's show. I wasn't going to go, but I kicked my ass and went down there. I had a chance encounter with Alysha Sopoco and she gave me some great kicking pictures. In addition there were a lot of people at sparring this morning. Thanks to everyone who was out.

Athletic Nudes with Tyler (NSFW)

Amateur mixed martial artist Tyler came into studio for my athletic nude series. He had a wide variety or strikes and his kicks were particularly good for photographing. We didn't shoot a tonne of pictures as my timing was good that night and Tyler was deadly accurate.

SHAW BOXING 2017 - Pro Boxing in Toronto

The Shaw Boxing event is a fund raising event held every year to benefit the Shaw Festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake. I was shooting for Below the Belt Magazine and Dameon Okposio.

Kevin Higson defeated Ryan Young by decision to capture the North American and Canadian super welterweight titles.

Tim Cronin defeated Nathan Millier in a close decision to become the new Canadian Light Heavyweight champion

Tariq Ismail defeats Dylan Rushton in his professional boxing debut in a 4 round decision.

The Shaw Festival produces and presents the work of George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950) and playwrights writing anywhere in the world during, or about, the era of Shaw’s lifetime.  In the Spirit of George Bernard Shaw, the Shaw Festival provokes the mind and stirs the soul through a theatre experience so compelling that, year after year, ever broadening groups of artists, audiences and supporters are drawn to our work in Niagara-on-the-Lake and beyond. The Shaw produces 10 to 12 plays each season, with approximately 800 performances in our four theatres, to audiences totaling about 300,000 people.

The Shaw Boxing event provides a unique opportunity to interact with clients and network with colleagues in the business community, during the reception and throughout the evening. Hosted at the venerable Fairmont Royal York, guests enjoy first class hospitality throughout the evening including a gourmet dinner, wine, after-dinner spirits, and refreshments during the boxing matches. The three bouts are professionally sanctioned fights, providing the chance to enjoy high-quality sporting action close to their table. The guest list includes 700+ CEOs and senior executives from the ranks of Canada’s leading companies including audit, tax & advisory, major banks, law, investment, private equity, and real estate.

Sunday Sparring at Warrior's Boxing and Fitness

Some people go to church, some people box on Sundays. It's always busy at Warrior's on Sunday mornings as female boxers from all over the region come for sparring. Always fun to get out for this morning and have some fun.

PFC 5 - The Action

PFC 5 is in the books. Once again Prospect Fighting Champions show why they are the premiere amateur mixed martial arts promotion in Ontario. PFC 5 took place at the London Music Hall with VIP tables on the main floor and a great viewing angle on the second floor gallery. There were 13 great fights, an exciting card, and plenty of action. To see all of the images go to

ACE Fights - The Winners

Friday night I was asked to shoot ACE Fights' show in Georgetown at Nashville North. I had shot their first show way and was happy to be back there. There were 14 fight and the main card had lots of action. I saw all of my friends from AMMAO that night. I like shooting the perspective of shooting through the cage, especially when the fight goes to the ground.

Shout out to Woodrow James for reffing all 14 fights, the man worked hard.

I have one more MMA show to do in December to round out my fight schedule for the year. As of the last fight on Friday I'm at 369 fights photographed.

Maple City Cagefighting 4

Saturday I went down to shoot Maple City Cagefighting's 4th event. Thomas Armstrong puts on a good show and the Chatham crowd is always rowdy and ready to watch some fights. 6 fights ended in the first round making for a don't blink kind of night. It's always really easy to shoot with that kind of action.

Their next event is February 25th, 2017, already booked off in my calendar.

Photo Shoot with Pro Boxer Winston Matthews

Professional Boxer Winston Matthews came down to the studio last night for some promo work before his next fight Saturday night against another friend Steve Rainford. Jus Win looked to be in great shape and was super relaxed. I'm looking forward to shooting the fights Saturday night in Mississauga on the United Promotions Card.

DO Boxing

The other night Dameon Okposio of DO Boxing and Below the Belt Magazine came down to the studio to shoot with boxer Andre Pena and boxing coach Tyrone Bradeshaw from UFC Gym in Mississauga. We had a great time shooting photos and videos and then went out for dinner afterwards. It is always good to see Dameon and we're always trading business ideas. Below is a video Dameon shot from his DO Boxing show.

Future Combat Stars - MMA

I went down to Windsor, ON to photograph the fights at Future Combat Stars #7. It was an enthusiastic crowd in Windsor. They really seemed to know their MMA. 8 fights took place including a couple of exhibitions. There were no slow fights and everyone came to bang. Technically is was the most challenging lighting I have ever shot in. The in fight pictures were shot at ISO 5000, which is not ideal, but you soldier through. Below are a few of the good shots from the day. The event ended at 6PM and the images were done and delivered at 12 Midnight, including a 2 hour drive back to London.

BJJ Shoot with Chris Lee Byrne at Munda Jiu Jitsu

I had an opportunity to shoot with pro MMA fighter Chris Lee Byrne at Munda Jiu Jitsu last night. Chris recently got his brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and will be fighting next week on the Global Warriors 3 card in Brantford. It was a very cool night.

Steve "The Renegade" Rainford

I met Steve back in 2014 and have shot 2 of his 3 professional fights and countless bouts where he has cornered, refereed or judged plus a promotional shoot. Steve climbs back into the ring Saturday night in Mississauga in a rematch vs. Aurey Cox. There first fight was close and this one should be better. Best of Luck Steve and I'll be ringside Saturday.
